Registration is now open for CABU’s upcoming July block course, Understanding the Chaplain’s Manual, taking place from July 14–18, 2025. This week-long class is designed to equip current and aspiring chaplains with essential tools for effective ministry in real-world contexts.

The course will be taught by Dr. Bob Freiberg, a retired U.S. Navy Chaplain with decades of experience in pastoral care, military service, and theological education.

Course fees are K350 for registration, with optional on-campus accommodation available for K100.

From July 14 to 18, this week-long course offers a comprehensive introduction to the Chaplain’s Manual—an essential tool for anyone serving in chaplaincy. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refresh your understanding, you'll gain a clear grasp of the manual’s structure, key principles, and how to apply them in real-life ministry. Sessions will cover topics such as pastoral care, crisis response, ethical standards, and the unique responsibilities of chaplains in various settings. By the end of the week, you'll be better equipped to serve with clarity, confidence, and compassion in whatever context God places you.

Dr. Bob Freiberg is a highly respected retired U.S. Navy Chaplain, known for his commitment to pastoral care, theological education, and community leadership. He currently serves as the Dean of Recruiting Management at the Seminary and also teaches Theology and Church History. With over 35 years of experience in education—spanning high school, college, and graduate levels—Dr. Freiberg has also delivered military briefs to personnel across all ranks and branches. Throughout his ministry and military service, he has led spiritual renewal efforts, commemorated naval history through memorial projects, and mentored the next generation with wisdom, compassion, and dedication to Christ-centered service.
